Spent the afternoon trying to find a simple part for the vacume cleaner. Sears used to carry belts, bearings etc. on the peg board. They informed me. "no more" i had to go to their parts dept, 3 towns away. So i go and their computer is down and they can't bring up what should have been a $1,50 piece of plastic that holds the beater bar in place when you replace the belt. They tell me to go to Sears.com and order it there and they will ship it to your house or to them, but either way there's a shipping charge. :smash: Turns out you have to order the whole housing to get the $1.50 part- --$35.00 + shipping. No thanks, i'll remold it with epoxy. :hihi: Raven 02-09-2009, 06:15 PM your NOT utilizing the power of S-B list the name of the Sears vacuum post a picture or describe the part and let everyone here help locate it..... someone has that part kickin around somewhere justplugit 02-09-2009, 07:33 PM your NOT utilizing the power of S-B list the name of the Sears vacuum post a picture or describe the part and let everyone here help locate it..... someone has that part kickin around somewhere Thanks but, i doubt if anyone would save a part from an old clunker like mine, Rav. A 1/4 dowel sprayed with silicone as a template and a dab of 5 min epoxy around it will take less time. :hihi: Raven 02-09-2009, 07:37 PM i had two machines sitting here for parts... and that's just me.... justplugit 02-10-2009, 11:40 AM Rav, it's a Kenmore canister model 116 and the part is the little plastic sleeve that the beater bar fits into and revolves around. Snaps in. Raven 02-10-2009, 11:46 AM built in which century ? :jester: so solly chalie ... these are uprights... Swimmer 02-10-2009, 12:06 PM Sears is good about sending the parts. justplugit 02-10-2009, 12:40 PM Sears is good about sending the parts. :agree: That's why i have dealt with them. But to spend $35 + shipping for a part that i don't need to take out a part i do need is a bit much, especially when they used to have the part i need in the store along with the belts for prolly $3. :( Plum Crazy 02-10-2009, 01:18 PM 10-2 is not a bad window. I usually get the 8-5 crap. I would be happy with a 10-2. Take a nap.:jester: justplugit 02-10-2009, 02:48 PM built in which century ? :jester: so solly chalie ... these are uprights... Uprights are sooo passe. :D Thanks anyway Rav, a $.79 nylon washer and a lil epoxy fixed it. :hihi: Backbeach Jake 02-10-2009, 06:08 PM My cable co. disconnected me instead of the neighbor who moved out. I called and they were nice enough to ask if I preferred to stay home all morning or all afternoon. I said neither just climb the pole and reconnect me. Can't do it, you have to be home. I said why not, you effed it up without me, I know that you can fix it without me. No, you have to be there....No I don't and I'm not losing half a day's pay because of your screw up, I tell you what, cancell my subscription and I'll go back to rabbit ears, you're too pricey for me. They fixed it while I was at work... joe the plumber 02-10-2009, 09:07 PM GAWD...why can't folks be more specific than that!!!! and ya gotta kill a whole day, doing nothing but sittin on yer arse...don;t dare even go for a walk...can't go in shop, 'cause if i turn on the machines i won't hear the door... crap.. i give somebody a time.. it do't have a 4 hour swing.. and if it is like the last ass clown...it will be around 4, when he shows up... no friggen SERVICE no more...sucks... OK...vent over... Karl, I ran my own plumbing & heating buisness for 17 years.I learned that rather than hang people up because of the unpredictable nature of my buisness.I gave them this option."Mrs Jones,if you must have me at your home at a specific time, the only appointment I can keep is my first of the day,8:00 AM.Shall we make an appointment? " Karl,it worked for me.It worked for them.I would sometimes have my 8:00 AM appointments booked 2 weeks in advance. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
