I have built myself a spinner finally, thanks to Biteme for the inspiration and motivation, and I want to know if any of you use some kind of thermostat to control the temperature inside. I thought a light bulb would warm it up nicely but don't want it to get hot in there. Any ideas how to wire sure an arrangement? :huh: or am I complicating it?

I only use a 25 watt bulb and stay a pretty constant 75 to 80. Anything bigger gets too hot. Both of my spinners have tops too so it is closed up which retains the heat. I have a cheapo thermometer in both the spinners to keep and eye on it. Find the wattage that keeps it at the temp you want. Don't see the need for a thermostat.

Slip, this is a wiring set up idea i borrowed/stole from Joe. Being i string 2 plugs across it allows more even heat on each plug.
My cellar is very cold and i use 60 watt bulbs to keep it around 80 deg. Pexiglass encloses the front.

OK, thanks, I'll use different watt bulbs then.
At 70 degrees in the shop a 100 watt bulb raised the temp about 10 degrees so I guess that is a good starting point if I decide to do this in the cold basement.

I made the spinner like Biteme's and made the wheel so big I didn't leave much room for a bulb.

Mine is not very big (28"x 18" x 16"). I put two 75 watt bulbs in it on a rheostat. On full it gets up to 115 degrees (with the motor running that produces heat as well).

Tell me with those type of plug spinners, you most be wiring the plug then applying the finish b/4 you put it on the spinner.With putting 2 plugs inline together are they linked somehow then attached to screw hooks? PICTURES!!

Jeez Louise that is furniture grade quality. Will it do multiple chicken's ?

God help me if I have to epoxy 40 plugs at one time :rollem:

I put it together with all scrap wood, cherry dowels are leftovers(anyone need some for needle blanks?) only money I spent was for the cuphooks, I had the rotissery motor out back in the shed, scrounged up some rod while organizing in the shop, the glass is from an old pink floyd darkside of the moon picture. what can I say, I'm an old yankee.

Now I have to figure out how the heck I am gonna get it off of my table saw, I guess it needs wheels :hidin:
