I've been looking around for a new surf rod this year and came across the Lami XS101MS, which comes in a 10ft 1 piece. Anyone have this rod and would recommend it? I believe it's built on a GSB blank. I'm a plugger so looking for something light that won't wear me down after hours of casting.
I would definitely go custom if you are getting a gsb blank unless they have improved how they wrap those rods.

Try a Lami GSB120 1L with 3 inches cut from the butt and tip. (9ft 6inch) Powerful rod that is very, very light and good for plugging.

Yup--the guides on the factory Surf and Jetty series (the XS rods) leave a LOT to be desired.

I have the XS91MHS and the guides aren't very braid friendly.
I think it might be their only factory rod that doesn't come with the fuji aluminum oxide or Alconite concept. If you can find a place that has them in stock I would recommend checking them out in person.
