Made a couple more new ones today. The first one is a simple tapered round nose swimmer but I made this to test out my laser engraving. I hope to expand this to eventually beyond text to reproduce 3d scales and fin texture. Oh, if you find this on the beach, return it to me, it has my name on it, it is mine, .:hihi:

The last image is of my "knuckle-joint", the head actually nests inside a deep cavity in the tail. The back end is swiveled deep within the cavity and it can rotate relative to the head endlessly without binding. The wood one swam well with a real struggling action. I really like the way it looks in the water. Quite a bit different, a slightly higher frequency and a little tighter. It may take me a while to adjust the plastic density to get it the way I want it.

I am spending a lot of time refining last years mag-weight minnow, it is gonna be pissa

I made a couple others for some friends... I have made these in every color ( I fish them a lot myslef) but this one shown is really cool. It has impregnated aluminum dust suspended in the resin. After it comes out of the mold, I simply buff it with steel wool and it looks like a bar of aluminum. Should the finish dull over time or with use...simply re-buff to bring back the finish.

That is really cool! You're like a mad scientist putting the aluminum dust into the resin. Very nice work and the name engraved is sweet. If I find one on on the beach, I'll be sanding off your signature and dropping it in my plug bag.

Way cool. I have a plug in mind to try that with some day. Is it difficult to mold large lead weights in to a plug dead center?

Larry Dalberg (The Hunt for Big fish tv show) Did a show on making plastic lures from molds 2 weeks ago. Search the hunt for big fish website and hes sells all the plastic stuff to make lures. He may have it on DVD to purchase.

Brilliant! This is giving me ideas

That episode of dahlberg was pretty good. I havent been able to find it anywhere online, but he was doing some pretty cool stuff, with the clear resins and the rtv molds and stuff.

I missed the show but several people who saw it said it is similar to what I am doing. I have used that stuff and there are others as well.
