It's snowing here in Vermont and if it snows a little harder it will start sticking. The technical term for this would be "Sugar snow" since it's maple syrup makin time. fishaholic18 03-22-2009, 10:08 AM Hope you feel better Dave! ProfessorM 03-22-2009, 07:34 PM I take it you forgot about the 28" of snow we got about a decade back on April 1st. I'll be in Jamaica a week from today so let it snow I don't care I can handle it. striperman36 03-22-2009, 07:40 PM I'll never forget it, it was 1997 my son was 2 weeks old. We were living on Wareham St. in Middleboro. A white pine fell onto the roof, partially through, above the kids room where Paulette was feeding the him. I unfortunately do not have pictures or they are in a box somewhere to be uncovered by an archeologist several thousand years from now. I also remember 18" of snow in 1983 my first year in Boston waiting what seemed like hours for the No. 73 Waverly to show up so I could finally end my 3 hour journey from Boston to Belmint via Mass Transit striprman 03-22-2009, 08:15 PM http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/lofiversion/index.php/t133901.html the leaves were out, oak "flowering". Alot of broken branches and small trees down. Planning to ski at least a couple of more days, and then I'll stretch the fly line in preparation for opening day in RI. It was '76, Paul - I remember I had just come back after spending the winter in Florida and didn't come back til May 1 so I wouldn't have to see any snow that year - Fat chance - Look at the bright side - there was a year in the early 1800's in New England that they called 'The Year Without A Summer' - it snowed in July that year... piemma 03-23-2009, 08:02 AM It was killer Chuck!! I cannot wait!!! ProfessorM 03-23-2009, 11:59 AM let us know how it works for you. I am an avid bunker spoon user. I had one made by Mike at M&D's few years ago, made a decent difference. Get yourself one these and a safety line too if you don't already have them. http://www.google.com/products?q=outriggers+for+rod+holders&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=K8DHSdnPOJjhtgfS2tjKCg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title MarshCappa 03-24-2009, 08:49 AM It was squalling last night on the ferry ride back from ACK. Hyannis at 9pm was blizzard like and a PIA driving home after a long day of working on the island. By the time we hit the canal it was gone. ProfessorM 03-24-2009, 01:53 PM Funny, no snow in Pocasset last nite, thank god piemma 03-24-2009, 04:11 PM [QUOTE=ProfessorM;676087]let us know how it works for you. I am an avid bunker spoon user. I had great results last year with the Montauk Bunker Spoons. Once the water heated up I was dragging wire in 50 to 80 feet of water off Newport and hammering nice fish. Nothing over 30# but I always had fish. I had read, over the winter, about a longer rod made for the big swing the bunker spons do so I picked up this rod from a guy in Quincy on the other board. I'll let you know how it works out. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
