Well I'm taking a season ending walk this evening and then putting the surf gear in the rack for the winter :( , Then it's 6 months of dreaming. I think this is going to be about as nice a night as we will see in quite some time. Why does it have to end..............

I know the feeling. I'm hoping to get out once this weekend but last night may very well have been my last for this year. I wonder why people at work have been saying that I'm irratible today? Perhaps my subconsious already knows that its over... :'(

Jeff,
It doesn't have to be. There are still some good fish left in CT. I know you know where too!
Just depends on the weather from here on in.
Good luck tonight.

I'm going to keep trying until the weekend after Thanksgiving. I don't care if all I catch is a cold. I'm going to keep trying for that dream fish. Seven feet long and 94 pounds!! :)
Got any fish like that left down in CT?

Not quiet that big Saltheart!
But don't forget, a 74lber was caught in New Haven a few years ago, so you never know. That's only 20lbs short of your dream.
Have you done well in the past up until the end of November????

Generally , the fishing really dies about Nov 15. I have had some success locally after that but prefer Montauk Thanksgiving Weekend. I think this year there are lots of straglers around. I'm hoping the local fishing holds up through the month. Another thing to remember is that the schoolie fishing is usually good early morning throughout the month. I'm looking for 1 big fish. Most interesting year was the year we caught blues well over twenty pounds in the afternoons off East Beach the weekend after Thanksgiving. Depending on weather and reports , I may try BI i night during Thanksgiving week this year. It could be a total waste but there is always hope. I once saw a 63 pounder taken from an RI beach in Late November. I didn't just hear rumors , I saw the fish myself. I was amazed at the size of its tail!!

I've heard of some guys fishing into early December, but I imagine it must be a lot of casting for not many fish by that point.
Last year I got into a bunch of schoolies here in CT probably a week before Thanksgiving, my hands were frozen, that was the latest I've caught fish (actually latest I ever tried to fish).
Good luck for the rest of the year, hope you get that one big one you're after.
