First he gives the British Prime minister 25 dvds that are formatted for the US and not viewable on his pal formatted tv. and today guess what he gives the Queen?

What would you give a 75 yr old lady?

A fancy photo album featuring all of her previous visits to the US?
Perhaps some "green" clothing item that was hand made in the US?
Maybe some organic delicacy grown exclusively in the US?
A mounted 50# striper for her wall at the palace?
Anything would have been better than an IPOD with a 1 1/2 inch screen that she can hardly see!!!

Obama gave the queen of England an IPOD!!!

It should embarrass most Americans that our "president" is giving heads of State gifts similar to what we would give one of our kids.

Is this an example of his decision making skills? Or is it an example to how much he "appreciates" the British? He did have the Winston Churchill bust removed from the White House and given back to the British Embassy the first day there.

Gift to Margaret Thatcher: a heart
What the hell DO you give the Queen of England? Obviously you are an expert on dignitary gift giving, lets hear your suggestions.

Would you give an elderly woman a tiny IPOD?

Don't instantly jump to his defense and try to slam me. Come on, an IPOD!!!

Anything would be better than that, I bet she can barely see the damn screen!

I would get her something that I would get for my Grandmother or your Grandmother, I would find out what she likes and try to get her something original and from the heart, because those types of gifts are "endearing" and proper to give a woman her age.

i actually think its a cool idea. An IPOD highlights americas leadership in technology.
I doubt she will install itunes on her pc and download tunes or any of her family will pick up Itunes gift cards while they're shopping at Kohls for her next birthday. I can see why it is not appropriate to give an elderly European monarch an IPOD but shes seen a lot in her days and may actually like a brake from the pompous routine

actually, looks like she alread has one! Perhaps Obama got her the slick new 160G Black one like RIJimmy?

Queen Elizabeth is getting crunk these days at B#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&gham Palace.

That means QEII is gettin' jiggy widdit with her new iPod. The British press has reported that Her Majesty commanded a member of her staff to ye olde Apple Store on London's Regent Street to procure for her personage one silver 6 GB iPod Mini, capable of holding 1,500 songs. And, yes, she got a royal discount.

Now everybody is wondering exactly what tunes are making it onto the 79- year-old monarch's playlist. The most popular guesses seem to be Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," the Stone Roses' "Elizabeth My Dear" and, naturally, ABBA's "Dancing Queen." Those might seem good choices until you consider the lyrics for the second song: "Tear me apart and boil my bones/ I'll not rest till she's lost her throne/ My aim is true my message is clear/ It's curtains for you, Elizabeth my dear."

As for the Queen, she reportedly gave the Obamas a signed photograph of her and her husband, Prince Phillip, in a sliver frame, her standard gift to foreign dignitaries.

I think QE needs a new gift! I bet there are a box of these in the White House attic.
