View Full Version : I Surrender!
JeffH 11-09-2000, 10:19 AM Well took my last trip last night and it was DEAD, DEAD and DEAD. I only had some little pencil eels with me and I managed to catch a striper that was shorter than my eel! Reeled in a fat 1lb, 12" striper! The fat lady is ready to do her thing........However, the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& is suspiciously quite........
blacksheep 1 11-09-2000, 12:51 PM we've had some decent fish over at fenway .one was over 20lbs .i've had to work for em though
JohnR 11-09-2000, 01:36 PM JeffH, Bill "said" he hung up his rods and reels for the season, at least for big stuff... If he gets a bug about fish still being out there, he'll re-line.
I'm still hearing and thinking that there are big fish out there. I have decided that crappy weather or not, I'm hittin' the beaches of South County this weekend (baby birthing permitted)... After this weekend, I'm done, maybe for certain . [img=http://www.striped-bass.com/Images/goofy.gif]
JeffH 11-09-2000, 01:45 PM I realize there are still some fish around, mostly in CT waters but as the hours fished to fish caught ratio widens then it's time to pack it in. I also have to figure in the 1-3/4 hour drive from CT to RI. This time of year it also requires far more brownie points per trip and my jar is quite low. I'm hoping to take the boat out at least one more time, blackfish anyone?

GaryK 11-10-2000, 02:47 PM Blackfish on Sunday perhaps...no more soccer! Da wife said you did ok friday night. We got skunked in the a.m. Went from CFP, to LSS, to Plum Gut..Nothing.
Mike P 11-13-2000, 11:07 AM We're still going strong down on the south shore of LI. Last time out I had nothing but keepers--none huge, but all in the mid to high teens, on bucktails. That storm on Friday really lit it up in the inlets.
Sorry, guys, don't mean to sound so smug---really I don't :)
I'd still trade the rest of this month and what we get in Dec to be able to fish the Cape and RI from June thru October.
