I will be there in August and would like to do some fly fishing fro strippers. HELP CaptMike 04-06-2009, 07:38 AM August is a tough time to catch bass in Jersey, especially in estuaries. The water will be like 80 degrees. You'd be better off heading to the manasquan inlet to fly fish, barnagat inlet would work too. There'll be some weakies and small blues, not to mention fluke and croaker in the salt ponds though.
