Simon Cowell lives for an unexpected talent like this. They did the same thing with a guy called Paul Potts It is on youtube) a few years ago. The was from Wales and was rather frumpy. In the lead in the highlighted his frumpiness and then he goes out and blows the house down. While a lot of it is prearranged or manipulated you can not change the fact that both of them can really sing. Potts is now a pro.

I thought she was great. She has a good story, youngest of 9, poor as anything. She didnt try out because she was caring for her mother who was dying. When she died, she said she might as well do something for herself and went and tried out for that talent show. Good for her
