Yeh. Sucks. Apparently now for the first time more people think the amount that they pay in taxes is fair opposed to those that think they pay too much. I dunno, I'm in that latter group that thinks we generally pay too much.

Of course, some of the people polled probably pat low or no taxes, so they may think it is fair.

I say fair = Flat Tax

I am among those self employed who just feel like they have us coming and going with all the taxes and paperwork to file..... It's like the Government doesn't want small businesses. Did I mention quarterlies today as well?

I agree, our tax system is way to subjective. Everyone is positioning themselves in one manner or another to avoid this and that.
what really sucks is AMT!!:fury:

I would like to see NO Deductions for nothing...a simple flat tax or no income tax and a bigger sales tax on good to make it revenue neutral. This way you can't cheat. Too many people are cheating on income tax.

Now say that a sales tax hurts the poor because they don't pay income tax...well for the truly poor they don't buy much but this could be offset with a rebate of some kind. What you do catch is the Wall Street schiesters who hide their income in a form of capital gains and don't pay 40% but 15% on ....millions.

Honestly I bet if we had a no income tax, and a fed sales tax there would be a net gain...not to mention we could do away with the IRS and tax forms.

I hate April 15th too.

I'm for moving election day upto the first Tuesday in May while
what it just cost us, and what we got for it, is still fresh in our minds.

Flat tax is the way to go.

Its not illegal, but you're still supposed to pay taxes on the fair value of what you received in exchange for you labor.
