Real nice...:uhuh:
Jimmy, ya done good
Finally...:hihi:
RIJIMMY 04-22-2009, 08:23 AM I should have said "new" to me. Yes, it looks much better than google earth, I can see the underwater structure. I zoomed in on my marina and pretty sure I can see my boat!
Young Salt 04-22-2009, 08:53 AM It may be more detailed, but it hasn't been updated for a few years. Google updated their map 1-2 years ago.

Near as I can tell, none of the rocks have moved significantly in the last couple of years...:hihi:
bloocrab 04-22-2009, 02:39 PM Wish they'd do this sort of thing during low tide....

So do the scientists who use this stuff too!

hmmm, I checked my house and I can see the boat I bought last October parked beside the house. So maybe they updated recently.
Also after you zoom in, make sure you hit the icon "Birds Eye View" brings you a lot closer, I can see my t-shirts and shorts on the clothes line behind the house.
MarshCappa 04-22-2009, 03:29 PM Very timely posting of this. This morning I downloaded the Google earth version to check in on a few spots. I like this much better!
protty31 04-22-2009, 05:16 PM The birds eye view is amazing!!!
capecodkid 04-22-2009, 05:53 PM Very cool link. Thanks!
snake slinger 04-22-2009, 06:09 PM much better than google earth
striperman36 04-22-2009, 06:11 PM no birds eye of gooseberry
Tagger 04-23-2009, 07:28 AM nice .. just walked from Boston heading south, thru the canal and out to Cutty ,,walked around the island ..
Saltheart 04-23-2009, 09:24 AM Seems to vary depending on where you look. In RI you can see if someone spit on the rock , at the canal you get nowhere near as close a look.

whoever found this and posted it on "the other" site must have been one really smart dude:hihi::hihi::hihi:
RIJIMMY 04-23-2009, 09:34 AM I wish I knew when they were taking the pics so I could moon the world.

That is untrue. I just looked at my house and land and it clearly shows a road I cut on the back part of my property. I cut that road last Fall so the maps are no older than 8 months.
Nice job Jimmy
wader-dad 04-23-2009, 03:24 PM Damn - my kids did not bring in the blue recycling bucket the day they took the shot. The view of my house shows my neighbor's in ground pool which he took out 2 summers ago, so my picture is a little old.
A friend of mine told me about this site a few months ago and told me that whatever I do- do not look at the birds eye view or I would get a addicted- he was right.

they did that for a reason :hihi:
RIJIMMY 04-23-2009, 03:25 PM I think it varies guys. I looked at my neighborhood and a house down the street was built @ 3 yrs ago and in the pic, they have no grass or landscaping, yet I know they've had it for over 3 yrs.
regardless, I am looking for rocks and other structure. Hell, it some spots I was able to see a rip line in the water. This is great stuff. Now we just need someone to overlay the picture with current flow arrows at various tide levels.

The shots down near Truro are pretty old too. A friend of mine had a house build and he's been living there for over a year. In the pictures, the trees haven't even been cleared.

I agree, Jim:
The pictures of my property even show my wifes new TrailBlazer which is a 2008. yet, some of the guys say that their pictures reflect 3 years old. Maybe some of the shots are updated. I know when I look on Google earth it shows a truck in my driveway I traded in 2005.
bloocrab 04-23-2009, 09:07 PM Thanks for the reminder on the site Jimmy ...I remember looking at this some time ago but never noticed the "Bird's Eye" view....that is truly amazing!
...and I agree, some things are up to date and others are not. The view of my house is identical to the one on Google Earth, about 3 years old. They must share the same satellite???...
