Spent 3 hours on the Bay yesterday morning. No pogies in any of the spots they were last year. No bass anywhere. No nothing and it was cold.

I'm on the Left Coast till Saturday and it's suppose to rain all week in RI. Maybe the full moon will bring the pogies and the Bass.

Perhaps you should look in some different spots as the pogies ARE in YOUR area and ARE being caught........along with keeper (cookie-cutter-size) Stripers.

Maybe you should do a search on the boards or some of the local magazines, they may have some different spots for you to search for them.... :read:

Agreed! I spent the better half of sat. fishing one side of the bay and my buddy the other side. Catching a few schoolies in 4-6 hours isn't what I call good fishing. And I saw ZERO bunker as well.

Like you said or better pray that the moon tide will bring in some fish. There were already tons of bunker here this time last year.

Well, bloocrab says they are in our area so I guess the 3 of us are just not looking in the right places. I will broaden my search next week.

You're not trying to tell me that you're going to base the spring arrival of adult menhaden to the entire bay on the 3 hours you spent cruising around are you???...

I wish I could tell you exactly where they were...however, with fins + tides, it's tough for me to tell which direction they'll head next...sorry gunpowder....I will tell you this though, I don't own a boat, but saw it myself...maybe they were Large butterfish...

my lobstering buds took 40+ totes in one night's haul in a 300' net last week..... is that enough?? thats enough bait to last several months- all in one nights work.:bgi:

Nay, they were probably bunker. I just missed them. I didn't say there weren't coming. I just stated that I didn't find them in the usual spots on Sunday.
