Don't really agree with this, some of this land has been in families for a long time, and because of a tragedy, and the extreme size they want this to be, they have to take the land? Make it smaller with the hunders of acres they already have. They need 500 more acres for this? To think in perspective, Disney Land in Florida is just under 100 acres, Tokyo Disney land is 115 acres. Just how big will this memorial be? The government has to take over 500 acres from the rightful owners. This is a bunch of crap!!

I agree the scale of this thing seems rather silly.

Disney World in Florida is over 30,000 acres. Only 7100 acres are developed, however, and the Magic Kingdom theme park only uses 107 acres. Which is the point I think you were trying to make.

Asinine. Yes, the fall of Flight 93 was an incredible tragedy. Much of the land that the jet crashed on will be impossible to farm on due to toxic fuel.

However, "a nationally tragic incident occurred here" will be their legal purpose for taking the land? Give me a break.

And on top of that, over $60 million in tax money is going to some memorial that is in the middle of nowhere. They state $58 million now, but we all know how government projects work out.
