The Return To Heavy Tackle (http://www.surfcasting-rhodeisland.com/TRTHT.html) tattoobob 05-25-2009, 07:22 PM Great read as always Joe, thanks for posting it wader-dad 05-26-2009, 05:05 PM I guess bigger is better. Another problem with lighter tackle is casting distance. I was fishing in early April here in CT and I had my schoolie rod and the fish were about 30 yards past were I could cast. The guys I was fishing with had heavier ourfits and were able to get out where you needed to be. Rob Rockcrawler 06-01-2009, 07:15 PM Great read. I always enjoy your articles, but there arent enough of em :) Joe 06-02-2009, 09:59 AM I'm getting ready to do some more - stay tuned. RIROCKHOUND 06-02-2009, 03:12 PM I never left heavy tackle... :D but it is all relative, to me a 1201M w/ a VS250 w/ 20lb back country and 20lb or 1213 w/ a newell and 30lb mono is heavy tackle... never got into 65lb braid and such...
