Seems like its been weeks since we've had any "Summer Wind." People are still catching fish but.... has it hampered your production with regard to any of your "go to" surf spots?

Really have to work for fish. Lot of moving around for me and just lately havent been able to get into quality fish. Back Beach 06-15-2009, 09:18 AM I think we're also in between movements of fish right now. The summer resident fish should be setting up shop in the next couple weeks. New moon on 6/22 should kick things up. You can unquestionably work around less favorable wind conditions, but the sou'west really sets up a number of my preferred summer spots. I've been getting plenty of :sleeps: so far this season....the eels in my livewell have turned white they've been in there so long...my kids want to keep them as pets and name each one individually...:laugha: Circlehook 06-15-2009, 09:48 AM Seems like the daytime bite has lingered a little further into June than last year. numbskull 06-15-2009, 11:22 AM When I suck, I suck, and the wind doesn't have anything to do with it unfortunately. Back Beach 06-15-2009, 11:35 AM When I suck, I suck, and the wind doesn't have anything to do with it unfortunately. C'mon George, the wind would have been a perfectly good excuse. It's working for me... BasicPatrick 06-15-2009, 12:22 PM Although I find the wind ver important the sheer number of barometric up and down seems to be messing with some spots I fish. When one weather pattern is established it can be figured out, but the last week or so it's bee a nightmare...prior to then it was very good!!!! ProfessorM 06-15-2009, 12:44 PM these East and Ne winds have put a damper on my tin boat activity in the Bay recently. Up until last week it didn't matter because I was in sheltered areas but I've wanted to go out further lately and it has just been too rough. HESH2 06-15-2009, 02:09 PM all east ne winds where i fish and have to cast into it like everyday.getting fish but gotta cast as far as you can .1 day had west wind at our backs and we had a big day.this whole weather pattern for may-june sucks been like april weather.can't remember ever so much rain.tight lines FishermanTim 06-15-2009, 05:23 PM When I suck, I suck, and the wind doesn't have anything to do with it unfortunately. And when the wind really blows, I really suck!!!:biglaugh: missing link 06-15-2009, 05:35 PM I'm no rock hopper but my shore fishing spots have been very good to me this year and fishing Buzzards Bay ( boat) no SW wind has been wicked pissa , I know the E NE wind in CC bay kicks it up a bit. Even the cooler H2O in BB Bay might keep the bite going for me at least. You should have been with me yesterday in a NE wind at 20 to 25 kt on Narr. Bay trying to liveline pogies on an East facing shore. Absolutely frigging crazy. The other day MV set the state record for coldest day...35 deg. Where is your global warming? A buddy said.."global warming is melting the ice cap and bring colder temps to us"...Huh? Let me get this straight. If it is too cold, its global warming, it if is too hot it is global warming, it if is a draught it is global warming and it there are floods and storms it is global warming. Remember a year or two ago in GA thru NC...all the lakes drying up...no drinking water...national crisis? Well you don't hear much about that anymore. He they said, it is not PC to call it global warming anymore, it is "climate change". To that I said, of course the climate is changing...when did go static? We had ice ages, heat waves, floods all before mankind starting putting CO2 into the air...IMO the planet is still evolving, one day we could all die from some planetary event not caused by mankind...but the dems will blame George Bush anyway. One night about a week ago the wind came around SSW for a night and I did pretty well in one of my RI spots. Guys that are getting them from shore are working extra hard or utilizing boats to get into remote spots...either way its been a bit of a grind. I've seen it slow before, just never seen this much onshore wind ever in my fishing life, though. OLD GOAT 07-08-2009, 02:21 PM I can,t take anymore of this easterly crap. Rockfish9 07-09-2009, 08:37 AM it sure has.. the river is a ribbon of mud, there are fish, but mostly teens and low twenties... fishing the beach front ( by boat) is hazzardous at best ( if your in close enough for it to be worth it) Monday night, the light easterly kept pushing me into the sand.. if the fish wern't there I'd have gone home.. I'm praying for a sou'wester... bart 07-09-2009, 08:49 AM hard N NE wind sucked last night. falling down and getting soaked, breaking my phone, also sucked. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
