Seagate FreeAgent Go

I have the 320GB. It's been very reliable, gets beat up a bit quite a bit and still works.

Fred - what size and what are you going to use it for?

Ya know, I don't know. I was asking on behalf of my little Sister. I sent her to Amazon.

Meanwhile, my desktop, has decided not to fire up. two year old dual amd processor HP. Push the button and the fans run at double speed. The little light that shows activity, doesn't come on. Am I looking at a new one?

Yep, first thing I did was open it up and blow it out, still has a black screen. Keyboard leds don't light either. I did have it start to boot once.

Could be a blown Processor or memory (some earlier AMD X2 ran hot and would smoke on a poor or dead CPU fan - see if that is turning) but more likely a Power Supply problem. Part of the PS working and part not...

I got a seagate portable drive , about the size of a new pack of file cards 3x5x1/2 inch. The thing works off the usb without being plugged into the wall. Has 500 GB memory and works right out of the box. Cost me $139. Got it at Walmart .com with site to store so no shipping charge. Worth looking at!

You probably have the same one I have. I love it. It has been beat up, and is still reliable.
