TheSpecialist 06-22-2009, 06:32 PM stay away from the low end humingbirds.. Smokey14 06-22-2009, 06:44 PM my top picks in no order are Eagle FishMark 480 Garmin 160C Humminbird 565 Lowrance X96 all are about $200 Raider Ronnie 06-22-2009, 08:35 PM $200 isn't going to buy you much sounder, let alone a decent transducer For that budget, look used TheSpecialist 06-23-2009, 09:45 AM I would go with the Lowrance, or the Eagle (which I believe is made by Lowrance). But like Ronnie said see if you could find a better used unit on Ebay, Craigslist, or another message board for boaters ProfessorM 06-23-2009, 11:41 AM like stated above save up for something worth while . Worth the wait IMO. w2f4 06-23-2009, 11:10 PM Ok Boaters I'm looking to upgrade my old FF and am looking to spend around $200 what do you all think? If you can stretch the budget a bit - a new DS500X for $260 - currently the best value out there for <$300. :btu: http://www.bethel-marine.com/html/specials.html slow troller 07-04-2009, 07:27 PM have a Raymarine DS500X FF used 4 weeks $300.00 Pick up on cape cod also have a Northstar loran -C $200.00 MakoMike 07-06-2009, 06:33 AM Multiply your budget by at least 3 or start looking for a used machine. Van 07-06-2009, 08:15 AM Under 200 bucks ??? I spent that on a transducer. Maybe one of these.... macojoe 07-06-2009, 01:32 PM Same here, I think it was more then $200 for the transducer! bigshrimpin 07-23-2009, 09:45 AM Check out Ebay for a Garmin 250C. Make sure you buy one with the dual frequency ducer. It's a 500Watt color unit with a 50/200 ducer. There are a few places that sell this unit for $200 brand new in box. http://cgi.ebay.com/GARMIN-FISHFINDER-250C-DUAL-FREQ-XDUCER-SONAR-FISHING_W0QQitemZ370228674179QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH _DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5633593e83&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|293%3A1| 294%3A50 ProfessorM 07-23-2009, 10:22 AM Not to steal your post but I fished on a members boat yesterday that had this one. All I can say is wow. Would take up my whole dash area in my boat. Had about a 10" screen. Very cool unit. Don't even want to look at mine now. http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/showthread.php?t=58386 That being said I have been very happy with my Raymarine DS500X, until I saw that one, but still above your target price. IMO save up for a better one as I started out with a budget one and was not satisfied and bought the one I have now.
