View Full Version : go Joe! RIJIMMY 06-24-2009, 07:29 AM nice! http://fishingblog.projo.com/2009/06/fish-hard-line.html Pt.JudeJoe 06-24-2009, 09:05 AM Atta boy Joe! :kewl: That would look good on our RI license plates.Maybe we can get them to change the slogan on them. Joe 06-24-2009, 11:35 AM Thanks - You know, a million online tackle shops have sprung up since I started. It's really cut-throat competitive with some pretty sophisticated people entering the picture. I fully expected it to happen though - it's unrealistic to not expect competitors to enter the marketplace. I'm only one guy - can't compete on that level, so I figured it was time to shift. At least when I publish a book or come up with a design, I hold the copyright or trademark. And yes, I know how expensive it is to defend it - you gotta sell a lot of shirts to pay bills from Salter & Michelson. Crafty Angler 06-24-2009, 01:16 PM I know what you're saying Joe - piracy on our copyrighted work cost my wife and I a photography business we'd had for over 20 years...and we had it happen with both our commercial work and the things we did on a retail level toward the end of the biz...:hs: Despite all the benefits of digital imaging, copyright violations - and the expense involved in pursuing them - are the other ugly side of the coin for people who try to make a living on their creative skills. And I've got the attorney's fees to prove it. On the other hand, Joe - in terms of competition - you've got the one thing that can't be bootlegged... Charisma....:hihi: tattoobob 06-24-2009, 02:12 PM Joe is surely a Fart Smeller, I mean smart feller The Iceman 6 06-24-2009, 02:30 PM I rarely order something online but when I do it's always from Joe bart 06-24-2009, 05:42 PM congrats Joe! DZ Uh ohhh....:hidin: Joe, you may be getting contacted by an attorney from the firm of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe....:laughs: Raven 06-25-2009, 05:46 AM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBopP-FlsXo Joe 06-25-2009, 08:29 AM Hey, how many people found themselves ditching a one-night stand and thinking to themselves, "Life Is Good" while making an early-morning escape? I can remember thinking that on several occasions as early as the mid-1980's..... But it was not until 1998 that those bastid Jacob brothers from Boston trademarked the phrase, stuck it on a shirt, sold 20 million pieces, and got into 550 stores. wader-dad 06-25-2009, 09:15 AM I told Joe we need to get some big shot celebrity to wear one of his sweatshirts around and have the picture of them in People Magazine -then things would take off. Anyone know Matthew McConaughey or Anne Hathaway. Tom Brady or Giselle would work I know John R is big :uhuh: but may not be big enough Slipknot 06-25-2009, 11:59 AM I told Joe we need to get some big shot celebrity to wear one of his sweatshirts around and have the picture of them in People Magazine -then things would take off. Tom Brady or Giselle would work I know John R is big :uhuh: but may not be big enough I could get one to Bill Belichick, but he won't be wearing it at a game, maybe out on Nantucket though.
