No sound is coming out of my speakers what so ever. i unplugged em, Plugged 'em back it. Restarted my PC a few times. Checked out all my sound propertys, settings. etc

When i try and play a song on KaZaA or other music program
it says something like "you sound card is currently in use, please terminate the program using you sound or cancel" Not in them exact words...

What's Wrong? :gf: it's not my speakers cause the comps saying it also...

I never ever had a problem with this comp, very good to me :D But this one has me lost...please help, suggestions

I was cleaning around the computer- i picked the Computer (HardDrive,,,not monitor) and set it back down nicely. Could the chip came loose? i doubt it but anything is possible. i clean in the comp once a mounth w/ compressed air & Vaccum to remove all unwanted crap.....maybe i will clean it & check it out today- where is it located?

I'm still sick, :yak: and been doing this " :yak: " all night...so looks like i have some time to fix this thing :p

:bsod: :bsod: :D

thanks

First go to CP, sounds and test a couple sounds. Eliminate a Kazza problem

you sound card is currently in use, please terminate the program using you sound or cancelSounds like something is using the audio system at the same time. What OS are you running? Turn off all the apps, close all the windows. Reboot, turn off all the crap (except VScan) that starts up on bootup. See if it works. The diag message says something else is runing at the same time.

Yes, moving a PC arounnd CAN knock stuff loose. Pull the cover and with the PC OFF but power still plugged in, discharge your static to the case (you really should use a wrist strap if you don't know what you're doing). Check to see if you have an external sound card (not built into the MB). Make certain it is secure by applying equal pressure on the board inline with the slot (most likely a white slot) If not n ecternal card, check to see if there are any cables running from where you plug in speakers to. If the jack is part of the board, you're sol. It may be a small ribbon cable running from the board to one of the slots on back too - just make sure its tight...

Without knowing what kind of PC, MB, and whatever that's all I can think of off the top of my head...

Hey,
Nevermind John, i took care of it :)

Cleared my drive. i had a bunch of junk on there anyways- I kept Crucial stuff (AOL,IE,ETC) & (not so crucial stuff: KaZaA, WinAmp, etc) but now the comp is runing VERY F-A-S-T. i like this.. :D downloaded a long song in 2 mins just now! :eek5: wait till i get that DSL :D

when i cleared it i think it was a corrupted song or something, alway on....Something like that???

Well, it' workin' now- thanks anyways!
