View Full Version : The AccuWeather Long Range CraftyCast For The Summer
Crafty Angler 06-26-2009, 12:24 PM For July, August and Most of September:
Mostly to partly lousy locally, with a slight chance of clearing by October...
Here's my take on it - this year reminds me a lot of the summer I graduated from high school in '67 - a cool, wet spring followed by a cloudy, foggy summer. That year the sun came out ONCE between Memorial and Labor Day, pea-soup pretty much every day...I kid you not, it sucked in a large way.
That year water temps were slightly below normal and the warm moist air of the prevailing southwesterlies created heavily overcast skies on the best of days and thick fog on the others...
Of course, I've been wrong before...:laughs:
I dunno, I'd like to be wrong this time but I'm thinking maybe not...:smokin:
Clogston29 06-26-2009, 12:28 PM i think summer came and went this morning. beautiful out for about 4 hours. rain forecast every day through july 6.

striperman36 06-26-2009, 01:17 PM Just the year to start working near the water
Back Beach 06-26-2009, 01:21 PM We had this same weather pattern in 2005, I believe. I know this because I remember replacing the handles on all of our squeegees..
I remember paddling out to my greens in a canoe in 1998 to mow them. We had between 13-16" of rain in less than a week. What we're seeing now sucks, but its been much worse, believe me.
Circlehook 06-26-2009, 02:15 PM How would continued weather like this effect the fishing overall? Would it make it generally better than a bright hot summer?
Crafty, how was the fishing that year?
Slingah 06-26-2009, 02:19 PM This is the worst June ever...I started working (painting) the exterior of a house June 1rst....it is about a 10 day job...I have 6 left, it was supposed to be done for a big 4th of July shindig ....worst of it they are acting like it is in some way my fault!!! I have been scrambleing to get little jobs to do and fill in just so I can keep going!!! SUX!!!

how was the long legged bed trasher migration? :p
I would not worry about the accuracy of your longrange forecasting. The important thing is the accuracy of your gaydar. You don't want to wander into the "wrong" Newport nightclub. At your age, the last thing you want is to have someone send you down a rohypnol-laced gin and tonic and wake up on Elton John's yacht with a big pink bow on your head and no memory of where your pants went.

Crafty Angler 06-26-2009, 05:19 PM Joe, I know that most mainlanders think Newport is full of Sodomites and heathens, but I haven't really noticed an uptick in gaynotes on Thames St
Maybe I'm not paying attention - here I thought all the well-decorated houses in Newport was due to the influx of middle-aged Connecticut WASPs...the only real thing I seem to worry about anymore is my property value down here on Southern Tems St
Babe-itude however is at an all-time high this season, I'm happy to report...:heybaby:
striperman36 06-26-2009, 05:42 PM I can say that middletown is mostly not registering on the gaydar or babedar, it seems to be more the qualiodadar around the S&S

Joe,
You speakin from experience????:rotflmao:
This is a fishing website, not therapy
:nopics:
No (not that there's anything wrong with that) people's sexual preferences are their own business.
I like Newport - Claus von Bulow was my boyhood hero.
