These big cow bass are vanishing before our eyes...if you catch one of these 'utterly' fantastic fish, please practice catch and release.

You must be smoking some strong golden triangle hemp. You talking about them thar farm cows?

Go out to the bank and you will see all the over populated cows.

What you do not take, the gillneters and the midwater trawlers will catch and send them to sour the bottom along with the rest of their discard.

I can't wait till the 12th of the month, ching! ching!

Slow troller,

This appears to be your second post.
How many have you read? Most new members tend to read several posts and search existing posts to learn the s-b.com culture and what has already been talked about, debated, hashed and re-hashed, laughed at, and parodied.

I have been a member of several other fishing forum communities and I must candidly say that s-b.com is first class community. That said, we call it as we see it and if you do not have thick skin, develop it. Welcome to s-b.com!

While this guy is most likely just a troll...

I do somewhat agree (as some of you also do).
I'm not a big fan of seeing big dead fish. :hidin:

Don't get me wrong, I keep my share of table fish, just something about seeing a cow killed for a contest makes me a little sad. I COULD take up golf, but I suck at that too.

I don't disagree with this statement Joe.. you said it in a more rational way though...

imho, it is USUALLY those who

DO NOT catch COWS on a regular basis that
pipe-up with these holier-than-thou rants!!!

whatever happened to "to each his FRIGGIN own" ??

i've stated my position ad nauseum, yet
since trollers "new" i'll reiterate~~~~~

i release 85% to 90% of what i catch, and will
GLADLY kill a big fish for a Van Staal, or a Toyota, or
the Team Trophy. the research is all over the map on this one,

but from what i've read and been informed about, the latest data indicates to me that we need to:

FIX the FORAGE, slot before and after the 25#~~35#'ers, and reduce the daily amount to ONE per day, or many surfrec's would simplify things by saying ONE @ 36" and up. and that is only the BEGINNING, please don't get me started on Omega Protein and their spotter planes and purses, or the Hudson River Poultry Industry, or mycobacteriosis, or algae blooms, or the DelMarVa Dead Zones, nor Racers vs Fatty's~~EVEN!!!

while you are absolutely right that the Big gurls carry the eggs of the future stocks, this Stock Assessment puzzle has many MANY more pieces to be placed/figured out than simply saying
"lET THE BIG COWS LIVE". it is, however, a noble stance that is recognized and practiced by a growing number of this esteemed assemblage; yet, are we not ALL quite capable of making our own CHOICES when it comes to "How now, 'green' COWS??"

welcome troller!! now, surrender thy PLUGGGS!!

not to worry J, when the next moritorium comes around soon, there won't be any tournaments to worry about.

I doubt pics of cows cause any more to become dead.

saw a football field of 20+ lbers swim under the boat a couple weeks ago. Can't say the same for tuna though.

Came across some old posts on another forum from 2001 and the sillyness that was tuna fishing. Only 8 years ago but I don't here the same numbers being posted. Maybe the good fishermen just got quiet while us blind squirrels are still looking for that nut.

Which is where the bait is concentrated. The old truism still holds---find the bait and you'll find the bass.

Late May/early June you had big bass spread from NJ to the Canal and beyond.

you can stare at a big dead bass all day long.If you can't catch one you can't kill one.Very few can catch them with any consictinacy to make much of a difference.Imho.Unless your releasing 40# fish you can't get mad at some one who is not.

and the fact that most of nature is still in a Spring pattern??
