JohnnyD 07-09-2009, 06:11 PM When I was younger, we built something similar to this: http://www.sscentral.org/homemade/supercannon2.html Not nearly as powerful and complex as that one, but similar idea. I hope the one's you built didn't require a muffler. JPI, I have the same problem with the squirrells messing up my lawn under a bird feeder. We placed it close to the house near a window so my son could watch all the birds while he's at the kitchen table. It works great, but the little bastard squirrells are eating all the seeds that fall from the feeder and tearing up my lawn. I've thrown water at them, but they learnd to get just far enough away that I can't reach them. Then they come right back after I go inside. Now, it's time for Plan B. Raven 07-10-2009, 09:57 AM squirrels either put a seed in their mouth to shell it or they stick in their pouch in their cheek to take it else where you can take advantage of this habit by making up a batch of HOT seeds to put directly underneath the feeder... Once they get hot mouth they will depart rather quickly you can use Cayenne pepper or any other real hot spice. Birds are immune to the hot spices for some reason. shake and bake some sunflower seeds with a tiny amount of water .best way is to mist them -then powder them gf2020 07-10-2009, 12:39 PM I always liked the Indian Pump... http://www.nationalfirefighter.com/images/FEQ17901.jpg JohnnyD 07-10-2009, 01:03 PM Johnny, that thing is nuts.
