The sattelite is hooked up to it and that works fine- but as u know sattelites dont have local channels (Channel 6...THE GAME!!!!!!!!!)

We cant seem to get local - the antenna just shows fuss.

Is there a setting in the Menu? i didn't see anyhting..

How about RTFM ? Did you read the manual? Say anything about ANTENNA? Not digital or sat TV - but ANTENNA. Before you were born, television cam via analog radio waves transmitted across the skys. There were these tall things called "antennas" that radiated the signal out in all directions so these smaller things, ironically also called "antennas", could receive these same raditaed signals and convert them to images. Amazing really... So, did you see if you can hook up an antenna to thins? Probably not because its a digital set but it should allow your VCR and most halway decent VCRs will allow cable & /or analog radio wave TV signals - hence the Radio Shack & Rabbit Ears. Do you even know what rabbit ears are? :laughs: :laughs:

C'mon John---only Santa Claus can go through the sky without satellite. If it ain't on the cable or the dish or the beeper or DSL --Man it don't exist/can't happen. That %@#$ you're talking about coming into a tall structure on the roof-----John you're at an age where Jack Daniels should be a no-no.:smash: :smash:

Well,
The menu on this TV is so extensive it's crazy, so many options.
We figured it out tho.....Its not like the glass front small TV like we used to have, this thing has like 50 hook ups in the back of it for just about any hook up wanted (DVD,VCR,ETC) we called RCA and ask'd them, the have great customer service..

Yeah, i know what 'Rabbit-Ears' are.....:D

We have the Sattelite dish, and we hooked the antenna up to the dish reciever and turned the dish off, it all hooked up now- works fine...

Yeah i seen them old 10' antennas on old houses- some people still have 'em......I also see them 10' sattelite dishes' :smash:
We have he nice lil' one...and with all this snow this year, still never had a picture problem---it just slides off the dish (use-pam oil sray)

Well, Bucs smashed the raiders, it was an OK game, i seen better :D but was amazing to watch on the new TV..

Still have all this leftover soda & snacks from the game, :D

We got it all under control now, figured out what all the buttons are for and stuff.

thanks for helpin' john

mike, i have sat tv in my town in mass. my sister in law just gave me here sat. reciever because she changed over to cable for that very reason she lives in r.i. if you want local stations in rhode island you need to have two sat. dish's, in mass all you need is one dish.

we have 1 dish- 3 recievers (1-Living room, 1 sisters room, 1 MY room :D)

We have Dish Network. we had Direct TV but there plans arent the best around- they are just big cause they have RCA recievers/dish. we have every channel except local.

You can subscribe to Sattelite- Local channels. think it's 10$ more a month (woth it, cristal clear 6,10,12,36,64, ETC ETC) They didn't say nothing about another dish...we are going to do that.

But for now we have the Antenna hooked up to the TV, When we wanna watch news/local.
we turn the dish off, switch to whatever channel.....This works for now-

anyway- we have it all figured out, and it looks great all set up- Just watched offshore adventures on it, and the Halibut on there was life size :D

BTW, Cable TV isnt all it's cracked up to be- we had Cox digital and the Picture/sound is like a DVD on sattelite. Cable is foggy and the sound isn't great- plus not as many channels/music stations- My Dish even has games on it :D Cable is good for the price, but not if you want to watch movies on it and enjoy it.

thanks for helpin'
