I wonder what kind of odds you could have got in Vegas if you parlayed Tiger missing the cut with Watson tied for the lead at the halfway mark?

Geez it brings tears to your eyes watching him walk off the 18th the leader at -4. Always was a humble guy withhigh ideals. God bless him. Probably tee off AROUND 11 A.M. OUR TIME TOMorrow

I think I wanted Tom to win more than anything I've ever wanted in sports.... I'm not ashamed to say this, I still tear up watching replays of Jack in 86, and he was ONLY 46.... 98% of my daylight school vaca hours were spent on a golf course from age 14 on... before I could drive my mom used to drop me off in the morning and I would walk 36 to 72 holes a day on a hilly course carrying a heavy leather cart bag before she picked me up when it was getting dark... The 72nd hole for Tom today was sooooo...... golf! Perfect swing on his approach and the hard, dry surface typical of links courses with a stretch of sun and wind bounces his ball over the back... no sun, a little less wind, a sprinkle of rain or a shot landing a few feet shorter and we would have seen one of the greatest sports stories of our time.... no s***....

I was away from home this weekend but was able to see the end yesterday at friends house. Made me want to cry. So close to history. He was always my favorite and it would have been a hell of a story as he said. Kind of feel bad for Cink as he was kind of the secondary story but he played great and deserved it. I don't play the game anymore, but did. I do follow all the Majors, and have for 40 plus years, not time really for regular events anymore.
Not sure if anyone else feels this way but I was glad for Tiger to fail this weekend. Don't get me wrong I think he is the best that ever teed it up and I usually root for him in an international field but I get tired of him winning all the time and really like when a long shot does it. I like to see him be human once in a while. Get sick of hearing all the talking heads saying he is going to run away with the tournament, although they are usually right. Was really nice to see someone from the good old days have a chance. I like Toms chance's in the senior British open this weekend.

That and he was too strong on the approach...over-running the green is what probably cost him....if he was on w/ the approach he would have made the 2-putt to win....ain't easy to putt from the fringe like that

of GOLF....is still a Game.... none the less

and if the same person wins
year after year..... it takes the fun right out of it.

so yeah, i was glad TIGER wasn't in the game.

i've never played Golf although i have worked on
golf courses building bridges across creeks...

the following year flash floods destroyed every single one. :grins:

When i heard that my DAD had got a hole in one......
i knew that it was time for a visit because his
time was near.... 2 years later he was gone.
