I guess it was time for a new front page, looks good- October 27th East end of the ditch at dawn. I just wish those guys fishing cooperated and cast their lines while I was waiting to snap the shot instead of cleaning their jigs.
So does this mean this season is winding down? I was thinking of building a flat bottom skiff this winter.

Yeh, that shot is great. It won out against a couple others to make the front page!!! I was thinking of putting a caption under it about the sunset of the season - but the photo aint a sunset!!

Well, I think the season is all over in just about every category now. Some will probably get a few fish but it will be very few and very far between. Time to recuperate a little. Of course I'm still thinking of the odd trip to extend my fishing out to get a striper for every month but with all thats going on, I might officially kick that off in January...

Flat bottom skiff, eh?? Build it out of rolled steel with massive rubber bumpers and you can drift down the Canal at night with little fear of barges, right :P ... that reminds me of the night me and Dave Breslin saw a couple yahoos going fast down the middle of the ditch, 2 am, in inflatable fishing innertubes....

Time for cod . I never caught one but with the crazy weather we get who knows. I know I won't be out in the canal but on shore. That's no place for a small craft.

I hope you're brushed up on your birthing classes. Good luck on the big day.

I've been thinking about a trip in December/January. Going down to the Canal, to catch cod and then to Scorton's Creek for some holderover schoolie action. I'm also thinkin' the Thames River in CT for some holderover action. SchoolieMonster and I have talked about doing that for a while now. 'Course now that his aluminum bathtub has a motor on it and a legal registration, we might just give it a whirl... :P

That is a nice sunset. Here's a nice sunrise I took heading out of Scituate one morning in August. One of the best I've ever seen and I think it had something to do with all the brush fires out west at the time, or at least that is what someone told me, tight lines.

Well I can't seem to get the picture to show, maybe John can clue me in, lol. Well there's the link anyway.

Got Stripers!! Thatsa SUNRISE on the front page :P ... that by judging from the picture looks like its down by Pipps at the east end of the Canal... Great shot of Scituate Harbor. I'm going to miss going there as often, now that I am no longer a fellow m#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& :D .. I liked fishing the drop at both of the north jetties, the bigun and littlun...

BTW, to get the image to work, use img= after the first bracket, put in the path, and then the ending bracket, that'll get the pictures up...

Later,

John

Thanks John for the assist. Next summer, you have to come up and get out with me for a day. Sorry, you will have to get into a boat, but I'm sure you will have some fun anyway, lol.

Tight lines.

Slip,
I got a 12 footer you could buy. Just kidding. I don't know what I'm going to do with that boat. I finally realized, "Hey, I'm not a boating angler." I'm a surfcaster.
If you have any questions about making it along the way, drop me a line. I'm most familiar with the Stitch and Glue Method.

SaltyDog ... Have you done any shore fishing at the Thames before in wintertime ? I'm told that some people get some from shore but it is really a boat spot...

Thanks,

John
