Last night was pretty bright coming up. We were tossing eels of some reefs for a while and nothing. Some clouds came in for about 30 minutes, an hour and a half after high slack. It turned on for about 30 minutes until the moon showed again. Last night meaning 2 nights after the full. Is it the brightness, tide, or just hungry fish passing through? Also they were only hitting on an almost dead retrieve. Anything faster wasn't getting a bump. I have heard and read it all but what do you guys think about the 30 minutes of fish? We also fished plugs ranging in sizes, colors and styles without a single bump.

We also noticed the dead retrieve the other night. If you worked the plug too much there was no interest. Dead stick it and whammo

Moon has sure been bright

you could go insane trying to figure this out, it's possible the fish just came through at that time, but it's also possible they were there the whole time and when the bright moon went away, they turned on.

had good numbers of fish around the moon, but nothing over 20lbs. fish seemed to be schooled up and were moving back and forth. i'd go 15 minutes with hits on every cast then nothing for an hr.

Sunday night was the total opposite. Same tide same place but nice and dark. The fish wouldn't touch a slow retrieve at all not even a bump. I pulled in my eel fast thinking it balled up on me and I got a fish. Super fast retrieve got me a couple of fish but it was slow for the most part.
