was thinking about wind direction and changes. i have read many time's how a fisherman will be on the beach spend some time out there and feel a change of wind direction on there face, and decide to change spots for a better chance at fish based on the wind change. when i'm out there i have trouble deciding which direction the wind is comming from, it seems to be swirling about and i can never find the exact direction. how do you guys do it?
is it a time spent on the beach type thing or do you carry a compass or wind direction thingy. how can learn about this?
thanks in advance

the waves are usually going in the same direction as the wind, and if you know the area, you'll know where the sun comes up, that will be east and your on your way.
I believe white caps begin forming at 15kts, so you can have an idea of the wind speed too.

Y'all will think I'm nuts but just know what direction is what -E,W,N,S , close your eyes, pivot on your hips til the wind feels the same on BOTH your eye lashes (they're very sensitive to wind), open your eyes and that's where the wind is coming from...
