Had a ball today with the 14 year old son of a friend, though we had to "work" hard for just three pogies. On the boat by 0445. (I had him sleep over my house, as he "missed" our last planned outing) Fish took a whole dead pogie, 39", 20#. His biggest fish ever. Great to see a kid's reactions, as well as realizing you get out what you put into it....

Yikes, Ross, bad timing on my thread (which I was typing while you posted this). Probably somebody should combine them since it is an important topic for many.

Congrats to you for the effort you put in on the kid's behalf and the good result you got.....it isn't easy to get an inexperienced angler a nice fish....and the self-pressure on the captain to accomplish can be intense.

No problem, George. In fact the threads complement one another. Being a parent, a non-selfish parent is paramount to the well being of the kids. While taking others kids out when they show an interest, only helps build the future of our fishery.

Isn't it funny that when you need to catch porgies for bait, you can't quite seem to get them :uhuh:.
