Dropping mine off today to get a list of parts ordered, leaf springs, rollers, bearings. Hope to get it done soon. Just want to be ready in case one of these tropical storms blow up and head our way. I will want to be able to haul out quickly. Don't want to be the boy who cried wolf, just some food for thought now that we have some named storms on the radar....

Hear ya on that one. Been slowly rebuilding the tandem axle for the past few seasons. New winch two years ago. All new ubolts and connecting bolts for articulating sections last season. New rear hubs and new brakes and surge coupler this season. Rollers are a constant PIA....

Friend of mine borrowed a trailer this year and had the leaf springs break up on the way to the ramp. A few blocks of wood, some baling wire and a ratchet strap had him limping back to his house.... Don't want to be THAT GUY!

The fenders are see-through, the rollers are all shot, the tilting parts are very stiff, most of the bolts are in question from corrosion, the tongue and locking mechanism are severely rusted, and the tires lose pressure after a few weeks.

Other than that it is fine !!!!!

Time for a new one, but I hate to spend the $$ cause I only use it for storage and drive 2 miles to the ramp 2X a year..once in---once out.

Need to find a good used one. No luck yet...

Got both springs done last night, nick of time. The passenger side had a crack and came apart while taking it out.

Coat your springs with a concoction of STP, thinned just enough for flow, with mineral spirits. I brush it on thick in the spring and fall. Messy but the stuff sticks like honey and will make them last a good long time. I do lots of my trailer parts, bolts, nuts, etc.. with the stuff. I read about it in a fishing mag several years ago. It works great

yeah mine needs some attention soon. Had to laugh today though, watched a guy getting onto the highway pulling a auqasport, his tire & rim and all came off and he went a little ways riding on the hub.

I did new leaf springs back in April since I didn't want to take any chance with a breakdown. I replaced the bearings and races as well. Then I put STP engine oil treatment on the new springs to keep the rust away.
Next I guess I will replace all the nuts and bolts holding the bunks on and stuff, then might as well treat them with stp also. I wish I had more time to fish........
