Squid kids Dad 08-17-2009, 08:26 PM UHHGGGGGGGGGGGG Cool Beans 08-17-2009, 08:27 PM you really set the hook on that last one, huh... ouch!!! Bronko 08-17-2009, 08:29 PM Been there a few times. I used to wait in the ER for the novacaine and a bandage. The last two times I just had someone rip it out. Another great reason to just fish eels with a 5/0! Hope you feel better.:grins: Raider Ronnie 08-17-2009, 08:32 PM Just cut it and push it through ! Goose 08-17-2009, 08:40 PM hope you didn't stop fishin over that Brian L 08-17-2009, 08:45 PM You wouldn't be the guy we saw at the SW corner of Block yesterday, would you? Flaptail 08-18-2009, 06:19 AM I did that the other day, one thing different though, I CRIMP ALL THE BARBS ON EVERY PLUG I OWN!!!!!:uhuh: Slips right back out with a tiny little hole. Un crimped barbs are dangerous and hooks with crimped barbs penetrate deeper and easier on you and the release of fish. Don't crimp and pay the consequences.:wall: 2na 08-18-2009, 07:16 AM ...and that is one more reason why I fish barbless. Hope it didn't ruin your day. 5 posts and he's already hooked himself. This board does wonders for your fishing prowess. RIROCKHOUND 08-18-2009, 07:24 AM Been there a few times. I used to wait in the ER for the novacaine and a bandage. The last two times I just had someone rip it out. Another great reason to just fish eels with a 5/0! Hope you feel better.:grins: Second that, but 6/0.... bassballer 08-18-2009, 09:14 AM ouch. been there my man. 4/0 VMC through the thumb. Now its mostly eels for me. HESH2 08-18-2009, 10:08 AM crush the barbs your not going to lose fish. JohnnyD 08-18-2009, 10:46 AM Do you find that using a split ring instead of open-eyed hook affects the action of the plug at all? Sorry wrong thread.:hidin: To the bend. Hope it wasn't too tough to get out. I cringed in pain just looking at it. otherscott 08-18-2009, 01:37 PM It only hurt for the first 4 1/2 hours until I had it removed at the ER around 1:00 am. But the real fun was having the fish on one end of the plug my thumb on the other and it thashing around the boat! :fury: MAKAI 08-18-2009, 03:58 PM it only took doing this once to make me crimp. I think the stay hook ratio is about the same on bass, while those asswipe blues shake themselves off a little more. tattoobob 08-18-2009, 04:12 PM It only hurt for the first 4 1/2 hours until I had it removed at the ER around 1:00 am. But the real fun was having the fish on one end of the plug my thumb on the other and it thashing around the boat! :fury: Try doing that when the hook is in your thigh right your thru the waders and the bass is going nuts 1/2 in the water 1/2 out I just took my pliers and with one good pull it was out vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
