I had to run into town. Got to the end of my street and there was a blockade. The motorcade drove by. My word! there had to be 50 vehicles of all types all black and a slew of state troopers everyone looking very serious. He is probably going to get an ice cream or to talk to Hawkeye about cash for clankers.
One of the black suburbans had antennas like I have never seen before. One in the middle of the vehicle was a huge black dome looked like a mini phalanx system:confused:. That was impressive just to see that. (I use to live in DC when Regan was the man and this is much larger now) Amazing amount of support equipment for this guy...amazing.

With threats up 400% and people showing up at his speaking events with weapons, he needs the protection. Hope you don't get stuck having to sit in traffic for the motorcade again.

I know troopers who could have retired on the money they earned when Clinton came tro town. 24/7 everyday, every square foot of space at t he barracks used for cots. Let us know if it ruins any of your plans.

Considering I live next to Farm Neck that must have been it. I turned around and came back home. Didn't want to get caught up in all that. 1 more week and it is over.:uhuh:

Karl, I was going to post that video until I came to your post.

Some of those Suburbans are definitely sporting heavy machinery in them. During the inauguration, a guest on one of the news stations was pointing out the vehicles with mounted machine guns in them.

2 things crossed my mind.

1 How could GM go BK with all those sales?
2) How come THEY are not driving smart cars?

From the local online paper:

A cheer went up from the crowd when he hit his first ball, which appeared to hook a little to the left and wound up in the trees by the first set of sand traps, about 180 feet from tee. He walked onto the fairway with friend Eric Whitaker, waved to the crowd and said "Hi man." "How are you" and "Good to see you man." Others in foursome are UBS chief executive Robert Wolf, Mr. Whitaker, aide Marvin Nicholson. They are playing 18 holes and will be out for 4-5 hours.

Clinton had dinner over at the stone house on Naushon. They shut down Hadley's Harbor for pretty much the entire afternoon. Coast Guard RIBs with the 50's, secret service in a couple Jupiters etc. etc.
