I'm in Newport/Middletown for vacation with the family this week and will probably head out into the surf a couple nights. I'm not at all familiar with the landscape, as I'm usually a SoCo guy and don't often cross the bay. A couple of very good canal trips this weekend have me fired up!

Not expecting the keys to the castle from anyone, obviously, but any ideas on where to start? My bro (Backbeach) suggested a trip to see the guys at Saltwater Edge (which I'll be doing this morning!).
