There was one in Boston harbor 2 years ago. Birders were going nuts.

At least he was flying in the right direction. A few years ago after a storm, there was a large green parrot in a tree across from my house.

They live all year round in the NE. I have some nests down the street from me. Loud as hell.

The "parrot" may have been a monk parakeet, which do indeed look like parrots, but are fairly common in North America. A few years ago there was a colony of them living on Old River Road in Lincoln, RI, as well as other communities in the state. They made huge nests of twigs on the tops of utility poles.

The bird I saw was not a monk parakeet. It was much bigger. There were other sightings around boston of tropical birds at the same time.
