Richard Seymour traded to the Raiders for a 1st round 2011 :eek5: ?? I Guess Bill didn't want to pay him next year.

I for one don't get this one... While it might be tough to pay both Seymour and Wilfolk when their contracts are up (this year), I still think you would keep Seymour around if you thought you were making a legitimate run at the championship. The team appears thin at linebacker to begin with, and you trade away a Pro Bowler DL?

Now they gotta be going to predominantly a 4-3. We're going to see a whole new world from the Pats front 7 this year.

Ron must be thrilled. In Bill we trust and a first round pick and the horrible record they have put up last several years we should get a real decent player.

Salaries everywhere are being pushed down or they're laying off people.
Even pro sports.

Yes & no !
I've always thought he was overrated !
His better days are behind him and seems he's been injured a lot.
Some Raider fans think a number 1 pick was way too high, but it's not like we got a genius (Al Davis) selecting out draft picks !
He's better than anyone we had so I guess it's better than another wasted high draft pick !

Rumor has it they are trying to work that #1 pick into a trade for Julius Peppers....But you know what rumors are worth.

Seymour was a bit injury prone....looks like a good trade to me....that number one could even work itself into a #2-#3 overall pick for next year if they do keep it

I think this was a genius move personally.

I agree. If you take the emotions and attachment to the recent (although increasingly distant) Super Bowl wins out of it, it's a great bet on the future.

Maybe we'll re-sign him, then we'll get Seymour and a 1st rounder.

I like the move, the future isn't going away. Lets hope Brady and Co. put enough pts to make his loss bearable.

Go Pats!!!!

The Raiders have become the NFL's boneyard. Seymour has been injury prone kast few seasons and hasn't done much to contribute. Besides, a Pats 1st round pick will turn into 2 seconds and a few thirds... In Bill We Trust:love:
