BigFish 09-16-2009, 12:35 PM Time to lob a grenade into that mob!!!:fury: redlite 09-16-2009, 02:01 PM That sand bar down at the trees used to be one of my favorite spots to fish. A friggin fence to protect them now......what's next???? feeding stations and a day spa for them? JohnR 09-16-2009, 02:32 PM There it is, one more nail in the coffin folks. Looks like the guy's one brain cell north of wearing a Pimpn' Eddie Hat... FishermanTim 09-16-2009, 02:55 PM and they want to institue a salt water fishing license??? If they do, it will be used to feed these POS seals instead of repairing the groundstock the seals help deplete. Maybe we can knock them out and paint bulls-eyes on their bellies for the sharks to aim for? PRBuzz 09-16-2009, 03:13 PM New bumper sticker time: Eat seal, taste like pork (the other chicken) BigFish 09-16-2009, 03:22 PM "Seal.....The Other Dead Meat!":rocketem: Vogt 09-16-2009, 03:32 PM "Seal.....The Other Dead Meat!":rocketem: hahahahahahaha:rotf2: Blitzseeker 09-16-2009, 03:37 PM Yep, the trees used to be a great spot....until the seals. Now it is not only a former great spot, it is a closed spot. Listening to these people is maddening....they have no understanding of the effect these seals are having. "I think they're majestic"...."I think they're cudddly"......I just can't take it. Mike P 09-16-2009, 03:47 PM Yep, the trees used to be a great spot....until the seals. We're %$%$%$%$ed. Backbeach Jake 09-16-2009, 04:48 PM Face it--there are more of them than us, and more importantly---they have more money than us. We're %$%$%$%$ed. On the money, Mike. No pun intended. People are so removed from Nature it scares me. Jenn 09-16-2009, 04:58 PM "they make me feel like something is right with the world" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAH!!!!!!! kenyee 09-16-2009, 05:24 PM Face it--there are more of them than us, and more importantly---they have more money than us. Sigh...all too true. Pet the lovely beavers (unless they build dams to flood our lovely suburban homes in which case we'll declare them rats and kill them all)...pet the lovely wolves (unless they chew on our kids)....pet the deer (unless deer ticks infect us all). Pet the seals and feed them fish unless they come over and bite our kids? hmmmm.....:devil2: Sweetwater 09-16-2009, 05:35 PM I haven't seen the fence yet, but was just down at "little" Coast Guard Beach and the east wind has pushed in a nice surf, a few birds working just beyond the sand bar, a couple of obvious holes between the parking lot and H o t Meadow...but I'm sure there're no fish :( striperman36 09-16-2009, 06:26 PM Don't forget the other protected species, comorants.... JohnnyD 09-16-2009, 11:51 PM I wish the Cape Cast guy would fall into a deep hole at low tide. Notaro 09-17-2009, 01:39 AM WDF do they even need to watch them for? They ain't that special. Raven 09-17-2009, 04:01 AM pray for ORCA'S to jump that sand Bar and start munching piemma 09-17-2009, 06:56 AM :smash:Talk about "BLUBBER" I wonder how the woman fromR.I. would feel if she was over run with rats. She was from Marion MA!! 2na 09-17-2009, 07:42 AM I saw this coming. Every time I went by that bar close to low water there would be a bunch of tourists walking out on the bar to get closer, even though the signs said to stay the f away. The rangers told me Fish & Game has been monitoring that site, waiting for the chance to cordon it off because of 'human encroachment' (I believe that is the proper euphemism). I'd tell them that there was a heavy fine under the Marine Mammals Act and they couldn't care less - what needs to happen is a couple of high profile arrests and fines. Significantly, the ORV corridor was still open, but next year if the beach changes and things get tight I would imagine it will be shut down. Now that the precedent of cordoning off seal world has been set it will be here for keeps. Like Redlight says, back when the bar was at that bluff in the background with the trees, that spot was my fishing nirvana. Karl F 09-17-2009, 08:07 AM She was from Marion MA!! Paul, the first woman was from Marion, the second one who gushed, (perhaps you could not watch the whole thing, understandable) was from R.I. You are so right Mike ...an ominous precedent has now been sent... I fullly expect "seal closures" to be a regular item on the menu now... they will punish the fishermen, for the encroachment of the curious tourons, and the blubber huggers.... maddmatt 09-17-2009, 08:16 AM someone with nothing to lose, please snap now Blitzseeker 09-17-2009, 08:48 AM someone with nothing to lose, please snap now Lol...now that's funny.:rotf2: jettyjockey18 09-17-2009, 09:16 AM does the marine mammals act trump the mass intertidal zone laws?? JohnR 09-17-2009, 09:55 AM does the marine mammals act trump the mass intertidal zone laws?? Oooohhh, that's good :kewl: , but yeh, probably the federal NPS / seashore whatever they are acts probably do saltfly 09-17-2009, 01:52 PM She was from Marion MA!! I agree.I meant to put a period after BLUBBER. Slingah 09-17-2009, 03:33 PM That sand bar down at the trees used to be one of my favorite spots to fish. A friggin fence to protect them now......what's next???? feeding stations and a day spa for them? mine too Mike ...I got my p.b. there...sux...:yak5: Adam_777 09-17-2009, 04:49 PM Idiots and stupid seals.Anyone got a claymore ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LYT6Gxv1CQ&feature=related tattoobob 09-17-2009, 06:54 PM You can't blame the NPS or the US Fish and Wildlife they are just protecting people from there own stupidity If people arn't smart enough to stay away from the seals then someone has to protect them Plus who wants to deal with a law suit Karl F 09-17-2009, 07:53 PM I dunno Bob...if they were close enough to get bit, I think instead of a lawsuit, the "victim" might be facing charges, Felony charges at that, of violating the Marine Mammal Act, and Harrassing the seal, the seal would be ruled as acting in self defense, due to said harrassment...especially as signs were clearly posted...the fence is a result of the asshats not reading/obeying said signs...any attempt at a law suit would be tossed, I would bet. and now it sets the precedent...seals congregate.. equals..close that section of beach...the sea rats own it....period. Backbeach Jake 09-17-2009, 08:09 PM I wish the Cape Cast guy would fall into a deep hole at low tide. I thought that Cape Cast Guy was politely mocking them. If they're so cute and natural,, I wish they'd go hug one of those things. ratblue 09-18-2009, 06:06 PM I concur, trees were the reason I surf fished. Most people dont understand.... pmueller 09-19-2009, 07:16 AM I should set up my slow motion camera and camp out there. Get some nice seal vs shark pics for National Geographic. tattoobob 09-19-2009, 09:00 AM I dunno Bob...if they were close enough to get bit, I think instead of a lawsuit, the "victim" might be facing charges, Felony charges at that, of violating the Marine Mammal Act, and Harrassing the seal, the seal would be ruled as acting in self defense, due to said harrassment...especially as signs were clearly posted...the fence is a result of the asshats not reading/obeying said signs...any attempt at a law suit would be tossed, I would bet. and now it sets the precedent...seals congregate.. equals..close that section of beach...the sea rats own it....period.
