I spent nearly 3 hours looking to shoot one over the last three days. We make "trigger fingers" and drink Don Julio to celebrate summer...which we've plum run out of time on. I thought the little nippers might have been gone already.

I watched one hide for cover under a sailboat while 3 small blues were harassing the crap out of it while snorkeling in Newport last year. Cool looking fish. The one I saw was a little different though.

ive been throwing a castnet here in boston for pogies. ive got 6 triggers so far. the first 4 were like 3-4". the last 2 around 10"... kept em in my holding pen for a few days... bass eat em.....haha.

my lobster friends are getting them too.

They are pretty cool fish, not sure what species that is, but some of them can be very brightly colored.

I've seen them in fish tanks before, VERY awesome to put feeder goldfish in the tank and watch it chase them around and eat them, you can actually hear its teeth snapping at the goldfish.

they bought them last year .. sucky price but ya gotta go there anyway ;;

2 years ago / while fluking w/F-18 we caught a few XL sea robins / F $%^& it we kept them in the boat .
When we got to the dock we still had them SOOOOO I sold them // when I got my check .45p/p .

a couple of trips later ... we went to a fluke spot no fluke .but a bunch of large sea robins .. 2 @ a time . to WTF we,ll catch a bunch ;; we did .we sold them .. the next check they paid .15 .

you know the game :smash:

I did a search on triggerfish ;

there are about 5 different kinds/ all have the same basic shape / but the colors really vary .
& the locals in Florida consider them good eating ;;:fishin:
