I think there was a thread about the seasons goals. Has anyone accomplished what they set out to do this year?

One of my goals was to fish bucktails effectively this season and i accomplished that. From the canal to soco the little hairballs have hooked me up quite a few times.

The goal that has evaded me so far is the funny fish. Did a ton of casting, not a hook up to be had. Will be chasing them today.

The 50, well there is still time.

Yeah...I got our new bathroom done!!!:fury: This is being chalked up as a lost season for me personally! Just too much going on to be able to focus on fishing.......the season might be saved for me if I can get that 1 nice fish!

41 years doing this and I never have landed a 50. Close twice with a 49+. I have had fish on that were probably 50s but never landed them so it doesn't count.

No big deal. I don't even care anymore. I want a 70:)

My biggest goal was to get on the other end of the line with a tuna. Turns out, the one day I couldn't go out, my friends finally land one.

Still a little bit of time left.

If my goal was to catch 2 bluefish, 1 door mat flounder and zero stripers and then have ny engine break down last week. then yes I hit my goals.

First goal was to learn 5 new spots. Learned a lot more than that. Second goal was catch 50 Albies. I'm at 44 right now so I haven't done that yet, but hopefully I can.

met some, exceeded some, and still have some to meet... Someone mentioned a 50 as a season goal, but to me a 50 isnt a season goal... its more of a long term goal... fish your asss off and let the chips fall...

my goal this year was to paint & stain the exterior of my house and build a new mudroom....so yes, goals achieved. I've still managed to catch some nice fish and the best is hopefully yet to come....I will be out there trying for a new personal best.

My goal was to get my son to go fishing with me, and it happened he's gone a number of times and now he gets my lazy but off the couch, catching fish is just a bonus as long as we are having fun

I haven't fish much this past season mainly due to age, but I did have fun and hookup with some nice stripers. As always they were released back to the fold for the future offsprings.

My only goal is to get out there as often as I can, figure all of the other things will come if you keep fishing hard. Managed over a 100 trips a season for the last 12 years, so my only goal is to keep that string going.

One really nice fish, many littler ones, a lot of missed sleep, a few scrapes and bruises, and a lot of laughs. I'm doing great, and there's a lot more season left.:uhuh:

Being my 1st year of striper fishing my main goals were to take my dad and boys fishing and to learn as much as possible. So far all accomplished. To me enjoying all the aspects of being out fishing is what is enjoyable like the stars at night when it's pitch black and there's no ambient light around and the sky is filled with stars and shooting stars. Or the calm warm breeze on a moonlit night with no one else around and you can hear everything the water is telling you. Or being with family or friends.

I've been fortunate to meet a group of guys who are dedicated fishermen who have taken me under their wing and guided me along. I will be eternally grateful for that.

And every stranger I've struck up a conversation with while fishing whether it be day or night has been great. It seems there is a brotherhood among us when you're both holding a fishing rod.

And catching my personal best at about 5 am this past Saturday was a thrill. I knew it was big with my rod doubled over most of the fight. 39" and fat. Best part was I was able to release her successfully.

Wanted to do a Cape Cod Bay Grand Slam...

Tuna on the SWC by 7am, bass and blues by 9am at the Race, enjoying a cold one at the dock by 11am.

Did that last week.
