Actually pretty easy to do.
Always use https to communicate . Never leave your email on places like fb, etc. open for view

I can send e-mail as anybody I want to....it only becomes an issue when they reply :hee: done it many a times just to screw with people. anybody want to win Publishers Clearing House? :hihi:

https doesn't help you with e-mail...you need to encrypt e-mail if you don't want it intercepted.

You use https to Read your E-mail...not to send your e-mail. E-mail travels over smtp.

between smtp servers/gateways it is in the clear, stand corrected.

People didn't believe that about email, so I sent them a message from God, to believe that anyone can craft an email :rotf2:

Good question and one I don't think there's an answer to...I think you just have to be REAL careful these days.

3 rules of thumb for e-mail...

1. if you don't know the person.....delete it......don't open it, don't read it and try and rationalize it....just delete it

2. if you know the person and they are asking for anything.....call them and verify it. Telephones are still the most reliable form of communication.

3. Never unsubscribe from any e-mail list....they are out there fishing for live addresses....when you unsubscribe you just verified that you are there.

follow these three rules and you should be fine.....Oh yeah, and use common sense at all times
