Few weeks ago, down the Canal for a week. Fishing nice nice and got a hit. Set the hook, took a little drag then this....
Probably a tuna but would have liked to know for sure :smash:

Thats an albie lure and potential take if I ever saw one. There were several failry large albies taken in the canal

Yeah, more of a steady pull then gone. Time to upgrade to triple splits

I snagged someting yesterday that took 15 feet of drag on my 560 slammer and then snapped my line. I was using a 6 oz jig with a 9 inch rubber shad body.

it's an ocean sunfish, easy to snag, shaped like the hood of my truck.
Saw 3 a week or so ago milling around east end.

I had one of them swimming in front of me a month or so back at the Canal and I had no idea what it was...I even cast at it a half dozen times just for the hell of it:smash: Now I'm glad I didn't snag it...I can't tie a knot to save my life so it would have benn quick:jump1:
