View Full Version : NEED HELP WITH PROJECTOR FOR SHOW
Fish_Eye 02-14-2003, 04:09 PM I was planning on doing a video presentation for all those attending the S-B.com party tomorrow...however, Mike just called and the school's video projector is down with a blown bulb. :smash:
Is there anyone out there that can manage to borrow a unit for tomorrow night? I will furnish the digital deck that plugs into the projector. I can support S-Video out as well as RCA connections for both video and audio.
There must be someone out there that has a fire department, library or school system that will allow for the temporary use of the equipment.
Let John R know ASAP.
Mike
Slipknot 02-14-2003, 05:18 PM That's ashame Mike, kinda short notice, wouldn't it be easier to track down a new bulb than try to find a machine after 4 on a friday afternoon?
How about a TV or 2? Sorry, I don't know anything about audio visual stuff.
that sux man.
JohnR 02-14-2003, 05:54 PM Mike - It's too late for me to get one now. I might have a real slim chance and will need to make some calls. Anyone else have an in on one?
Thanks,
John
BTW - those bulbs tend to be huge coin - like 200-300 smackers.
UserRemoved1 02-14-2003, 07:18 PM why not go rent one tomorrow am, and have everyone kick in an extra buck?
JohnR 02-14-2003, 07:25 PM They rent them by the weekend @ $250-300 per day, $500-600 is too much coin. I'm trying a couple possibilities. I usually have one at work but I it's being used for a presentation
UserRemoved1 02-14-2003, 07:32 PM hoily shnoikes! I can rent a 50k machine for that kind of money.... This is a regular video projector?
JohnR 02-14-2003, 08:21 PM It's not too much more than a video card, a DAC, and a 1000 watt bulb with fancy focus.... My company has 1 in each office, about 5K units and I borrow one every year for the MSBA show. I've thought of using one for the SuperBowl & might do it next year :)
Decent ones run $2500 each - high end ones have come way down but they can still run 5-10K
nightfighter 02-14-2003, 09:00 PM I struck out. Was trying to get brother's company projector, but he has it with him in Canada for hockey exchange weekend.
Still thinking tho. JR call me on cell tmw AM if nothing comes up. I may have one more long shot.
Bill L 02-15-2003, 07:09 AM Is this the same kind of projector that you use with a computer for projection? I can proabably get one from the office to borrow, but its older and has poor resolution -- I always complain about it when I have to use it, fine lines get broken up and small text can be hard to read. I can get it to try if you want
How about somebody close by with a jumbo screen TV at least ??
JohnR 02-15-2003, 07:16 AM Matoonoc - same thing provided that Fisheye's digital device has a monitor style output. Not sure if your projector has S-Video if it's older...
Ross - don't have your # ...
JohnR 02-15-2003, 09:24 AM ALL SET!
We have a projector for tonight - MSBA will be bringing their unti and I'll bring my CSW speakers to plug into it...
Thanks everyone!
