WOW, Clammer - I don't think I have ever heard of guys catching Blues in December before, but it has been unseasonably warm winter so anything is possible. :)

Last Blues I saw out of Quincy bay in early October were about half that length!

Clammer.. have you considered writing a book, which explains how you ply your craft twards the bloofish? I mean really... you are a prodigy when it comes to catching this species. Bravo!

yeah but for one second when you felt the hit and couldn't see what it was I bet there was a little bolt of thrill running through you. :)

OH BTW ,for those talking small BF , some years huge bluefish , biggest I have ever seen (23 pounds after gutting with heads like a football) , hang around this late in the season. I have never seen them upriver but I have seen them on the outside a few times this late.

They winter over in the power plant outflows of a lot of places. They stay on the feed there too long, the water outside the discharge gets too low, so they're stuck there for the duration. I'll bet a lot don't make it to the spring.

Curse? to catch that in july maybe but in December you should consider it a blessing. Embrace the moments you shared with the toothy ones. :uhuh:
