Sweet - that looks tasty. :) You are brave - I wouldn't sit on one ..... I HATE ticks! ;)

How about some specifics? 20 or 12 ga? Tree stand or ground? Time of day? Oh, when is dinner? LOL

I haven't been out in years - all of my deer came from central coast of CT.

Nice deer. Was it close to "home" or did you travel out of town?

It was Norton. We got a spike out of there today, and jumped a huge buck there as well.

Thanks guys.

I guess I should have told the story.

It was 9 am and I was in a tree stand contemplating getting down to go for a walk as most of the deer I had been seeing were coming by early. It was friday before the first saturday of shotgun, and I was using a 12. I saw my friend coming down the trail and heading out to some fields around 925am, so i decided to sit and see if he kicked something up.

About 15 minutes later this guy walks out around 40 yards away, and stands behind a tree looking at me. a few minutes go by and he finally walks by broadside and I shoot him. There was no blood but lots of fur. Another guy comes down, and says the deer had been skirting between the two of us all morning. so anyway we tracked it for about 200 yards and then the tracks got all jumbled. We spread out 70 yards apart and walked till we found him. The drag out was about 700 yards.
