Goose 12-05-2009, 11:21 AM A lamb??? wayta go dude...1187? TheSpecialist 12-05-2009, 01:44 PM Nice one, I shoot a scoped 870 gotta love the Remingtons.. Sgt_Nutz 12-06-2009, 07:13 AM Yes, it is a 1187. Weighs a ton though! Depending on the hunt I will carry a 870 instead sometimes. buckman 12-06-2009, 10:54 AM NIce buck, Congrats. We use 870's too. My son has a youth 20 gauge. sweet little slug gun. He took a small buck with it yesterday maddog2020 12-06-2009, 11:36 PM Nice buck! :) How is the barrel: rifled, rifled choke or smooth bore ? I was thinking of getting a slug barrel for my Dad's 11-87 SF. I never really liked the smooth barrell on the Browning BPS in 20 ga (got it before they allowed rifled barrels in MA :P) - I tried the Remington & Brenneke slugs in it and neither were great groupers. Canalratt1 12-07-2009, 10:13 AM Congrats, gret deer! Rifled barrels are the way to go, groups the slugs great, but Buckshot through the same barrell will not hold as well. Sgt_Nutz 12-07-2009, 07:18 PM Remington 1187 with Cantilever Scope Mount Rifled barrel. It is awful heavy though. And the sabot slugs to go with the rifling are not cheap. If I could do it again I would stick with a smooth barrel and scope on an 870. Rifled slugs @ $3-4 a box work just fine for most distances around here. Depends on preference and conditions I guess. :deadhorse: Fly Rod 12-08-2009, 12:43 PM Congrats on your Buck. Sgt_Nutz 12-08-2009, 09:45 PM Congrats on your Buck.
