Mike P 12-15-2009, 01:53 PM Been here since the day the site went up in March of 2000, at the MSBA show at Cordage Park.
Had to re-register in October, which is why my profile reads the way it does.
The Dad Fisherman 12-15-2009, 02:15 PM 6+ for me......I think the Grateful Dead said it best...What a long Strange Trip its Been
Raven 12-15-2009, 03:20 PM now i am OLD
BigFish 12-15-2009, 03:52 PM I don't "visit" here.......I live here! Been registered since 2003!
Slipknot 12-15-2009, 05:04 PM Like MikeP, since way back 9 plus years ago. At first anyone could post and you didn't even have to be registered. I came in the door and have not been able to find my way out. I guess I am lost.
me too....pretty close to the beginning of time :wall: back when I could probably name all the members and had actually met a good portion of them too.....
...now my memory is bad, I cant keep track or keep up anymore! HAHA!
Fly Rod 12-15-2009, 08:26 PM Since 2003= 6 years.
nightfighter 12-15-2009, 08:45 PM Been here awhile... I think I liked the MSBA shows at Cordage Park the best, as I knew nothing and world of custom plugs and high end gear was first revealed to me. I think a more painful question would be how many $$$$ have you spent since you found S-B....
<<<<<<---------<<<<<< This long....
Slingah 12-15-2009, 10:18 PM It is funny how something on a screen can be a "place"....but that is exactly what it is...a cool place. About 7 years for me...I lurked for awhile....
Raven 12-16-2009, 12:39 AM me too....pretty close to the beginning of time
...now my memory is bad, I cant keep track or keep up anymore! HAHA!
JENN my DEAR ....whatever you say ...even in print
the mind believes
so when you say my memory is BAD
it only serves to make it so
because you giving your brain a command
same as when someone says
the frequently mentioned phrase
i can't remember (never say that)
instead you say : | i am remembering
i will remember-it's coming back to me
and it will <===
and start taking GINKO BILOBA - It works great!
start smelling some ordinary Rosemary herb too
because the olfactory senses are linked to memory
and you'll be amazed at some total recall you have
HESH2 12-16-2009, 08:04 AM pretty much since day 1 on site, thanks john r and all the great members on site.

Wish I had made a 5% commission, could quit my day job. Instead I've spent 10 years making far less than supermarket bagging wages to do this. :wall:
But the friendships and experiences have been certainly worth it!
Pete F. 12-16-2009, 09:14 AM 6 years I think
Fishpart 12-16-2009, 10:30 AM Since maybe day two or three..
I think about 7 or 8. I can't remember back that far. Heck......I can't remember yesterday !!!
chawk20 12-16-2009, 11:11 AM 2004, should of signed on years before. I don't post much but this is by far the best fishing site.
Crafty Angler 12-16-2009, 11:41 AM 2001 for me - boy, somebody oughta start a Classic Thread thread...;)
Without a doubt, there's been some beauts...:hihi:
Duke41 12-16-2009, 11:52 AM that for sure. how about the flame war with that highschool kid many years ago. Or the pic of Notoros illegal striper gutted in the kithchen sink.
Crafty Angler 12-16-2009, 01:04 PM To tell you the truth, I was thinking about some of the more humorous ones
I don't think there's much point in trying to re-ignite any smoldering embers
Justfishin' 12-16-2009, 01:16 PM Almost 8 years
Canalratt1 12-16-2009, 02:00 PM A long time, I miss Patrick!

I can't be the only person that has lost his mind and joined this board in the last couple of years but so far the consensus is that everyone is an OLD timer.
ElSluggo 12-16-2009, 05:10 PM Not long, 2 plus years, a quick way to learn though. Thanks everyone.
piemma 12-16-2009, 05:42 PM 6+ years and every bit of it fun:love:
Thumper 12-16-2009, 05:45 PM less than a year but the things i have learned on this site will last me a life time. this site got me back into fishing. i would go maybe ten times a year in high school then off to college only really went a couple times in the summer. this year i would say easily over a hundred outings. maybe around 65 consecutive outings, i would say i fished more than i slept this year and can't wait to do it again next year.
RickBomba 12-16-2009, 06:15 PM First post for me was in December of 2000, had to rejoin in April 2001, so lets say 9 years for me right now (I found the site when trying to think of how to occupy Jan-March 2001 off to re-coup from knee surgery).
I miss Patrick, too!
I believe there were about 60 or so members when I started.
I used to be deathly afraid of bassmaster, as he constantly harangued me for my use of herring for bait! We became buds later.
Billy Mitz and chris L. were my first friends on the site.
I helped plan the original TFCTFN (Year six or seven this year) with the rest of the kids.
It's been quite the ride!
Duke41 12-16-2009, 07:01 PM I had to rejoin as well. +I used to think that Clammer was Russian or something with all his symbols and such. (((())))))(%%%%(). HJe use to end his posts "Enjoy what you have".
Bazza 12-16-2009, 07:25 PM I first joined awhile ago when the MASBA Show was at Cordidge Park
Fish_Eye 12-16-2009, 07:30 PM Lurking since the earliest of days and finally registering in October 2001. Many have posted more times than I have but few have contributed more images...and it has been my pleasure to share my underwater seascapes with fellow S-B viewers, as well as a few humorous images.
I remember when the flame wars were pretty hot and heavy and spot burning was deemed punishable by digital death and banishment. That's when I posted a chart of all the best shore fishing spots in RI with "X" clearly marking these secrets spots. Those who viewed the map knew it was the real thing -- I had given up some of their super secret, personal honey holes.
One of the moderators quickly deleted the chart and I was chastised before I had a chance to post the "punch line" to my joke. If anyone had taken the time to look carefully, they would have noticed that I simply put an X everywhere intersecting loran lines met the shoreline -- not very scientific, but it did nail a few quality spots. My point was that throwing a dart can sometimes yield better results than trying to decipher someone's cryptic post and that if you just get out there and FISH and WALK and FISH and WALK some more, YOU WILL BE REWARDED.
Thanks to a great core group of contributors, moderators and of course John Redmond, this site has always been a downright friendly digital neighborhood for social networking with people who love striped bass, and as my grandfather would say, "Chewing the fat." Here's to the next 10 years.
Mike
Mr. Sandman 12-16-2009, 07:32 PM I stumbled upon this place I think in dec 2000 sometime after fishing yet another fall on BI I felt hollow in December and I was sniffing around the web looking for local SB addicts to commiserate with. I had moved to back up north to RI in 99 and was still doing a lot of surf fishing but most of the guys I knew were not fishing the beach much due to age, health and physical limitations and few had computers. I found sb.com and it seemed like this was the kind of local site I was seeking. It was a lot different then not a lot of members. There was a problem with my name at one point and I had to re-register and I think that is why it says 2001 now.
I have visited all the other sites but for some reason I prefer this one. Even when it gets a little hostile, I still prefer it over the others. Also I think JR should be commended for keeping it as non-commercial as he has. Further, I thought the first TFCTFN I went to when I met a lot of the people I have only posted messages to was really a lot of fun and something a little special.
This is a good group of people even if we all don't agree on everything... I hope it stays like this but it will probably change like everything else.
Happy Holidays SB.com'ers

Better check the join date under your avatar/name:confused: 6yrs.
For me about 2yrs. mostly lurking. Wish I had found it sooner!
Rob Rockcrawler 12-16-2009, 07:47 PM June 22 2004. For some reason i thought it was longer than that. This place is like an online home, its always the first place i check when i log on. Im not ashamed of saying that the internet helped me a lot when it comes to fishin, and this place takes all the credit, and blame for the absurd amount of money i have spent over the past 5+ years since i joined this happy bunch of idiots.

Adam_777 12-16-2009, 09:41 PM I've been around since Al Gore invented this internet.I'd say 2 or 3 years for real. It's a good site with cool people.Wish I'd found it earlier.
Diamondwrapper 12-17-2009, 09:28 AM I have to post then look at the date and edit. I don't live in the area but I look at this site all the time. I just moved from Long Island to South Carolina but I will still spend most of my internet time on the sites from the north east.
Now, what is that date ?............ah 2003
BigBo 12-17-2009, 09:51 AM Seven years, but I was a lurker for a year or so before that. I've gone back to lurker mode. I've learned a lot from this site and made some good friends. :uhuh:
Bronko 12-17-2009, 10:21 AM 5 1/2
Saltheart 12-17-2009, 11:53 AM I can't prove it but I'll swear my first post was the first ever on this site under John R's. I think some URL change or rename somehow right at the beginning then got #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&'s name in front of mine . :)
But anyway , it is surprising how fast 10 years went by. Probably be surprising how fast the next 10 go by.
TheSpecialist 12-17-2009, 03:21 PM I have been here 8+ and have met some fine people on here, learned alot too.
