This is a Christmas gift for a Cigar loving friend..
The body is inspired by a Pinkney design sand eel plug...
6 1/2" long and 1.25 ounces...
After drilling ( Idid not seal this plug wanting the leaf to bod to the wood) I partialy dried one of the mutant romain lettice leaves from my garden and applied a tack coat of spray adhesive to the plug, then carfully rolled the leaf around the plug and bound it in place with bakers twine.... after allowing the leaf to cure for a few weeks, I removed the twine and added the cigar band, I then applied 4 thin coats of lacquer, the lacquer saturated the leaf and thus rendered it no longer brittle.... once the lacquer had cured, the plug was wired, rigged and a coat of etex was appied....
This plug swam great before the leaf treatment, my hopes is he doesnt fish it... I am sending him another one( leass the leaf finish) to fish with..
