Taunton second-grader suspended over drawing of Jesus - Taunton, MA - The Taunton Gazette (http://www.tauntongazette.com/news/x1903566059/Taunton-second-grader-suspended-over-drawing-of-Jesus)

...would it be un-christain of me to sue? I hate sueing but I'd be outraged:fury: if this where my kid. Give half the money to charity would make me feel not so guilty too. I'd like to know if there is another agenda here.

"NO TOLERANCE" BS has gone too far. Teachers should use common sense but I guess they have not acquired any in their years of dealing with people. School Boards should be comprised of people with education backgrounds not just someone who runs for the office.

A while ago a child in Ga was suspended because he was "caught" talking with his mother on the phone. It did not matter to the teacher or the school board that he had not talked with his mother in over a month. His mother was deployed in Iraq for about a year when she called. Nice school board.

In this case I think the teacher should have been suspended. I would hope that a second grade teacher has enough mental capacity to understand what's going on.

I do agree though, if I was the parent I'd be ape%$%$%$%$.

Ditto on all the above. This is the same school where they suspended the kid, gradeschooler for drawing a picture of a gun on the same piece of paper as the teacher. Teacher said at the time she felt very threatened. I'll bet its the same teacher in both incidents.

I believe the kid put his own name above the cross. If that's the case then maybe they did the rght thing by asking for an evaluation. Blame the lawyers, if the kid hung himself after drawing himself on a cross then the school would be up sh$@s creek.

ooooh I get it now, this 8yr old special needs kid should have known better. Common sense isn't common as you think.

God forbid if a kid wears anything to school that makes a statement about his faith....no way, hate to violate anyone elses kids rights. Don't forget Joey....."don't make cross's in school at christmas only santa".....:af:

Poor mother, takes her kids to Lasalette Shrine and the next day she has to take the boy for an eval. Whew! I am glad the teacher straightened the mother out.
