This is a look at the hole thing macojoe 02-17-2003, 08:27 PM This is the thread holder. I can do 4 roll's at a time. The thread goes under the rod in front then up to the fishing blank. The little dial on the rt is a dimmer switch that I use instead of a foot paddle. The paddle broke and I came up with this works good for me. macojoe 02-17-2003, 08:30 PM This is a closer look at the thread holder as you can see it is a screw washer thread another washer spring and wing nut. The rubber bands hold the wing nuts from turning when thread is pulled out macojoe 02-17-2003, 08:34 PM The wheels are some 1 1/2 wooden wheels I got at woodworkers warehouse. You can get them any where. I put a 3/8 plastic insert in the center then screwed it to the stands. I took a bike inner tube and cut it into 3/4 sections and streched it over the wheels. This makes a soft touch for the blank and a little griping power. Like I said its not pretty but works macojoe 02-17-2003, 08:36 PM another look at the wheels Billy 40 02-17-2003, 09:13 PM That dimmer replacing the foot pedal is a really neat idea! How does the rubber band work preventing the tension from backing off/tightening? Very nice set up. PNG 02-17-2003, 09:30 PM Outstanding! Chris:D :D :D macojoe 02-17-2003, 10:32 PM the rubber bands work great. If you look close you will see that they are around the wing nut on the bottom thread and when the thread turns they stop the wings from turning. Keeping it at the setting you have set it at. Like I said it works for me. MountainBreeze 02-18-2003, 08:49 AM Nice work there macojoe! My next stand will have a motor and some rollers as well. Thanks for the ideas. Rob chris L 02-18-2003, 02:02 PM looks good Joe . the important thing we forget is " it works for you and your happy with it " . It is great to see that we as fishermen are no different than the fishers that came before us . We can make just about anything work for our needs . BM has a nice homemade wrapper too as do a few others . vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
