If you live in Mass and plan on hunting with it, it cannot have a break open barrel like an over and under shotgun unless you are only going to hunt during shotgun season.

That said you can't go wrong with an Omega. They are one of the most popular muzzy's out there. I have one and love it. I know that Cabelas had the blued barrel/black stock on sale for under 300.00 and there was a 25 rebate. They usually sell that model for around 389. You might have to buy it online though cause the week before xmas they were all sold out. Also Basspro will match the price if you bring in the print from Cabelas website.

The new muzzy's are easy to clean. I shoot 777 pellets, use 3 50 grain pellets and a 250 grain Shockwave bullet and you will get excellent results. As far as cleaning goes it is just hot soapy water. I use a cleaner that is the balls it is made by Thompson and is a foaming cleaner. It is called TC-17 foaming bore cleaner.

I have a Knight inline with a SS barrel and removable breach plug. Old blued TC Hawken would rust if you looked at it! SS Barrel and removable breach plug make cleaning much easier. May want to consider weight also, depending on what kind of hunting you plan on doing. Not sure what you want to spend.... Like TheSpecialist said the TC Omegas are very popular: basic black stock w/ blued barrel $369@ Basspro, Cabelas has one w/ a starter kit around $340. Kinda late for this deer season but it is the time they start appearing used...

Hunted with a friend of mine today with an Omega and a scope. Maybe a hair lighter than my Knight. Also a little better balanced. He said DONT use Remington 209 primers. For whatever reason they don't work well with the Omega.
