Anyone have a box that you don't need? I could use an extra one for my manland. HD or standard both accepted. Maybe a trade for some tackle or something like that?

I think the idiots that came and put in the HD's took the standards back but I'll check the closet.

Thanks. I've also had plenty of negative cable guy experiences myself. I believe direct tv gives you the option to buy or rent the box so i figured i would check to see if anyone bought one and then switched providers. Already pay enough for the service.

Bill,
Tell me more about Fios.
It became available in my town within the last 4 or 5 months
Verizon started calling me to switch.
But they won't get the direct tv disconnect fee waived (even though they sell it to me as part of my bundle)

Ron they have a deal with Direct tv to market it to Verizon customers that can't get fios and those customers a discount of some sort. That said they usually have things like gift cards and stuff as incentives to switch. The incentives might make up for the disco fee with DTV. For what it's worth this has the best picture ever, and I am not saying that cause I work for them. I worked for all three at one time or another, and this is the best there is.

Right now they are offering a $150.00 prepaid visa card back as incentive.

I still prefer the Beyonce DTV add. It's the most rediculous commercial I think I've seen but I'm still a fan.

Hey Bill,

What do you have to commit for a contract, 1 yr or 2 yr?

Thanks, Jeff
